THE SPACE
Floor-to-ceiling windows line two exterior walls, lending beautiful natural light (and a view) to Ballroom 1, Plaza 1, Plaza 2, and the Boardroom. Blackout shades unroll at the touch of a button. High Speed Wi-fi is available in each room. Events in Plaza Towers offers flexible room sizes suited for a private meeting for ten, a conference for sixty, or a wedding reception for 300.
- The Grand Ballroom is the largest banquet space in Plaza Towers. Retracting the wall between Ballroom 1 and Ballroom 2, its floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the Ped Mall and Iowa City Public Library.
- Ballroom 1 is the larger of the two ballroom portions. This portion of the ballroom includes the wall of windows and is an ideal space for medium
- Ballroom 2 is the smaller end of the ballroom and does not include windows. This is a great supporting room for dining or breakout space when using Ballroom 1 for conference presentations.
- Plaza 1+2 combined includes floor-to-ceiling windows along the Southeast side providing ample natural light and a view of one of Iowa City’s wonderful murals. The length of this room is great for smaller receptions.
- Plaza 1 is perfect for a larger meeting and can fit up to 40 in u-shaped seating or up to 60 in classroom style seating.
- Plaza 2, while similar in size to the Boardroom, allows for flexible seating arrangements for smaller groups.
- The Boardroom is our most private room and seats up to 25 in u-shaped conference seating. The conference tables in this room are always set in a U-shape to be ready for your next small meeting.
- Plaza 3 is the communal space in the center with moveable glass walls that can create another room. This space is ideal for a meeting breakout, buffet tables and small dining area, or use it for bar service and guest mingling.
- The Roof Terrace is one level above the Grand Ballroom and provides an open air view of the ped mall. A beautiful setting for a ceremony, cocktail hour, or casual evening reception. Ask your coordinator how to bring this space to life with additional decor rentals!
